On February 27, 2004, the cowards of the Abu Sayyaf terrorist group detonated a bomb on SuperFerry 14 (carrying around 900 people) as it departed Manila. One hundred and sixteen people are presumed to have been killed by this attack. This was the Philippines’ most lethal terrorist attack and the world’s most deadliest maritime terrorism attack. Philippine security officials were able to find the individuals responsible as well as prevented the future bombings of the U.S. Embassy and two other targets.
