About Me

Add me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter

I love challenging the status quo; especially when there seems to be an underdog in the fight with a valid argument, that few if anyone want to take up… as I am a contrarian who enjoys challenging existing illusions, one truth at a time.  Lover of History and Asian Culture.  I have traveled to Japan (all 47 Prefectures); China (Shanghai, Nanjing, Beijing, Hong Kong and Macao), Korea (Seoul and Pusan); Philippines (Manila, Binondo, and Cebu); and Singapore.

I prefer things with a Japan flavor and recently the Philippines as well, but if there is a topic you’d like me to consider… Shoot me a text, message or anything and I’ll be happy to do look at it.  I may not agree with you, but I’ll provide you my comments  on what I think is going on.

I am first and foremost a Special Agent (AFSC 71S3) with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI); having served six years in Japan in a Counterintelligence role working with my Japanese counterparts.  Three of those years was after being trained as a Japan Area Specialist for AFOSI, where I earned my Master’s Degree in Northeast Asian Security Affairs (focused on Japan) from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.    However, I am now a Northeast Asia Regional Area Specialist (16F4D, Japan-focus) as of 2012, serving as a Military Professor for the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) in Honolulu, Hawaii.

  5. As a new Spikey Ronin (or is it Chris or Kuch that you prefer?), you’ve joined a growing clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious; email me.

In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence, hope you have a great day…
